About 'New Millennium Gaming'

As a child, I did little but play video games. Sega Genesis, GameBoy Color, you name it...but in the twenty or so years since I've begun my foray into the digital realm, things have changed.

The mediums through which we play in our current day and age are so vastly different, not to mention far more functional and superior in many ways. New consoles are being released every few years, new means of digital downloading such as Steam and Nintendo's eShop have an ever-growing library of content, and independent, or indie, games are popping out of the woodworks.

And it's more than just video games. Since 2010, tabletop games have been making a huge comeback. Card games like Yu-Gi-Oh! and Magic: the Gathering continue to sell big, and board games have shot up in popularity due to new types of games, such as Deck Builders, multiplayer RPG board games and even co-operative superhero throwdowns.

As New Millennium Gaming, my goal is to spread awareness of these new games as they are released, as well as keep readers informed on gaming news, new releases, rumors and so forth.
